Joe Bentiez work can be seen all the way back in Gen 13 #1 Regular Series where he did a pin up. He later hooked up with Top Cow to pencil his first book Strykerforce #8. Wasting no time, Top Cow got him on a new project which he helped co create, Weapon Zero. Due to Walt Simson leaving and low sales (I doubt it) it was cancelled and concluded with a most undeserving ending but left plenty of loose ends for it to pick up again. Joe Benitez went straight to The Darkness as predecessor of Marc Silvestri and finished his run with a memorable The Darkness #25. Now Joe and Marcia are working on The Magdalena, a 3 issue miniseries that has been in the works for 6 months. Next hopefully the much anticipated "creator owned" project will come and fans will be happy. Joe Benitez has been working for Top Cow for many years and I consider him the most senior artist at Top Cow because he is still there and working (First artist for Top Cow was Marc Silvestri, he is not drawing anymore, second Brandon Peter, he is at Crossgen, then Joe. )
